In his entire life, Peter had never owned a pet, but a business trip to South Korea changed everything.
Doma the Dog is a true story about finding family in an unexpected place and proves even a "ruff" beginning can have a happy ending.
Peter is Doma’s dad and a newfound dog lover. Not growing up with pets, he was unsure about adopting a dog, but that changed when he met Doma. Instantly, Peter knew Doma was special and wanted to give him a family. Surrounded by his parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins his entire life, family has always been important to Peter. And now, he and Doma are best buddies.
Peter is happiest when he has a project to work and enjoys woodworking, home renovations, making homemade sausage and wine and cooking for his family and friends. Half-Italian and half-Lebanese, his specialties are pasta sauce and stuffed grape leaves. Peter also likes to golf, watch sports and visit his favorite place in the world, Isola di Ponza.
Mary is Doma’s mom and a lifelong dog lover. As a girl, she hid photos of dogs around her house, hoping they would convince her parents to get one of their own. Her persistence paid off and her family adopted their first dog, Maddy, a Siberian husky, Alaskan malamute and German shepherd mix. Her passion for animals continues to grow, and she looks forward to adopting more dogs in the future.
In addition to spending time with Doma, Mary enjoys baking (and eating) desserts, running outdoors, learning new things and traveling. She has an affinity for finding the perfect gift for family and friends and likes to exercise her creativity by crafting home decor. Mary is a big fan of laughter, humility, fresh air and chocolate.

Doma (meaning cutting board in Korean) was born in Paju-si, South Korea. His first year of life was very transitional, moving between a farm, city streets and eventually to the CARE shelter. He spent two years at the shelter waiting for his new home, until the fateful day he was adopted by Peter.
Doma loves squeaky toys, playing ball in the yard and sticking his head out of the car window. He also enjoys butt scratches and trying new foods. His favorites include: blueberries, watermelon, cucumbers, Romaine lettuce, radishes, popcorn and duck jerky. Doma is a shy dog, but will eagerly sit and give anyone his paw for a treat or some pets. He is the best boy.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
